Navigate the arduous application process Present your best self to admissions committees Attend college for free with scholarships or financial aid Make the most of your time at college The speakers Soraya Beheshti - Columbia University Soraya is a 21-year old honors student at Columbia University, at which she is pursuing a dual major degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Film and an additional concentration in Anthropology. She has extensive volunteer experience, having worked as a volunteer teacher in Vietnam, as well as in refugee camps around the Middle East and Europe. She spent last summer studying at the MENA Summer Institute - Columbia’s Global Center in Amman, Jordan. Soraya has since founded a nonprofit organization called Karvan, which is creating a non-monetary economic system that connects citizens and refugees around the world through skill exchanges. She was awarded the Columbia Innovation Grant and is currently a finalist for the Tech.Co Startup of the Year competition. On top of this, she runs a conscious living blog, where she creates content related to eco-travel, ethical consumerism and plant-based diets. Alexander Lenz - The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania Alexander is a 20-year old student at Wharton, where he is dual-concentrating in applied statistics and finance. Alexander has received perfect scores on his ACT and SAT subject tests, and graduated as valedictorian of his class at Vanguard High School. He has experience leading a regional United Way Group with over 60 members, and is actively involved in his university scene. While at university, he started a consulting company, which was acquired Crimson, and he now leads the New York based operations. His passions include venture capital, mathematics, and education. Vik Venkatramani - Carnegie Mellon University Vik is a former management consultant at A.T. Kearney, where he focused on strategy development, M&A and operations management for clients in sectors ranging from financial services to retail to telecom. He has also worked with Hewlett-Packard as an internal strategy consultant and in venture capital with a seed-stage fund where he advised for-profit social enterprise startups targeting the rural Indian market. He has an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, as well as degrees in engineering management from Carnegie Mellon University and computer engineering from Virginia Tech. He leads our operations in Toronto and Vancouver. Additional speakers are to be confirmed.
