About a French diplomat, spy and writer
Eonnagata is a story about Charles de Beaumont, an 18th Century French diplomat, spy and writer. He was believed to be the first spy to use cross-dressing to carry out his missions. Like in Japanese Kabuki theatre, where male actors play female roles, Eonnagata combines theatre and dance to explore gender and human nature.

The production is performed and created by Robert Lepage, and also stars French dancer Sylvie Guillem and British choreographer Russell Maliphant.
