Brown Junior Public School - Playground Fundraising Campaign Donation Drive

Please come out to our Playground Fundraising Campaign Donation Drive! Help Us Raise $150,000 Childcare and pizza dinner will be provided for your children. Registration required. Through the efforts of the Parent Council, school administration, the TDSB and others, a multi-year plan is in place to revitalize the Brown Junior Public School Playground. Our goal is to raise the $150,000 required to complete the construction of this project. Playgrounds Don't Grow On Trees - Fundraising Campaign The new and improved playground will comply with current playground safety standards and will provide all children and families of the community with a safe, fun and accessible place to play. Established in 1910, Brown Junior Public School is located in the heart of midtown Toronto on Avenue Road, just south of St. Clair Avenue. Since its establishment, Brown has continued to provide outstanding support for its students and community, and many of its graduates are leaders in our community. Our Playground Project The Brown Parent Council, along with school administration, the Toronto District School Board and others, has embarked on a special fundraising project to make significant and much-needed improvements to the playground area of the school grounds. The new design contemplates an outdoor classroom, more greenspace and shade, a synthetic turf field and running track, and multi-use sports area. Construction of this multi-phase project is expected to begin in Spring 2019, with completion expected in 2021. The playground will be available to the students of Brown as well as other members of the public community during non-school hours. Why Give? Outdoor play is essential for children to develop stronger language and problem-solving skills, enhance physical strength and capability, increase environmental awareness and develop a more positive outlook in general. Ensuring the children in our community are able to develop these important skills at an early age makes our community stronger – socially and economically – for now and in the future. In order to make this dream a reality, we need your support.
